Okay, who is responsible for this?
Melynda Kiring was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is often found at random coffee houses, hunched over her glowing laptop, plying her nefarious trade. In addition to "Fortress", she is the author of "The Book Eaters - A tale of the Wonderful and the Ordinary", and "The Adventures of Dean and Chicken." Also a playwright, her plays "Quadrille" and "The Soul Mirror" have been produced to amazing reviews, and her play "Nomen" has been a finalist in the Contra Costa Times Play Writing contest.
On the non-literary side, she has been involved with theater for 25 years. The recipient of four Shellie Awards and an Arty Award, she has had the chance to be many strange and wonderful people.
In film, she has worked with director Todd Nunes (Two Brothers) in the cult independent film, "The Majestic Massacre," and more recently "The Fog Lady."
(On a local note, If you were ever in Mr. Martin's 4th grade class anywhere from the late 80's to now, you will know her as either "Mrs. Hagshead, the meanest substitute teacher in the world," or "The Junk Food Monster.")
